Welcome to the 2013-14 School Year!!

Dear Gr.4-5-6 students, parents, families and school staff,
Welcome to a brand new year school year!I hope that you had a wonderful summer. I am looking forward to an exciting year of learning and growing with you.  I would like to give a special welcome to all new students, families and school staff.  I am so happy to have you on our team here at Pope John XXIII!  I feel blessed to have the opportunity to work with you in the year ahead.

Welcome to the 2012-13 School Year!

Welcome everyone to a brand new school year of learning and growing.  We had a great first day with our new team!  I was very happy to see our new students and returning student working together to form a new classroom community.  We gathered with the whole school in the gym today and met our wonderful new principal Mr. Legree.  It was fun listening to the big cheers when he introduced all the school staff.  Do you remember one expectation, goal or hope that Mr. Legree shared with our school?  I hope you do and share it with your families at home.  I know that we are going to have an amazing year of learning and growing together!

We are happy to be back from the Christmas holidays and are excited for the new year 2012!   

We're Back!

Here we are almost at the end of November!  We have been very busy with our learning goals and having lots of fun of course.  We have been learning to tell time and to figure out how long things take.  We are also working on learning our high frequency words and retelling stories that we have read. 

We were very excited to have our first snowfall.  The snow was cold, sticky and fluffy.   Perfect for building forts and making huge boulders.  We are continuing to work as a team when we played in the snow just like sand box fun.  Another highlight this week was welcoming our new student Devin for a visit.  We welcomed him with thoughtful intentions during our morning prayer routine and then had a chance to introduce each other and talk about our favourite winter activities.  Way to go Team K!
